When I first heard of this service on an NPR story maybe a year or two ago, I thought, "this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of."
Despite my initial skepticism, I gave it a try. It seems that it's developing as an excellent marketing tool for attorneys and firms. Among the myriad celebrities on twitter, there are also many users with helpful, relevant information for aspiring and practicing attorneys!
Among the users I follow are the ABA Journal, Above the Law, and the CATO Institute.
Check out this Legal Intelligencer story for some suggestions on getting started on Twitter yourself. Give it a try. I remember hearing that somewhere around 40% of users stop "tweeting" after a month or so, but you might just really enjoy the latest in social networking.
Maybe you'll even pick up a client or two.
